ASSISTANT PASTOR

Sione Tuipolotu serves as volunteer Assistant Pastor working with Youth and Family Ministries.  He is a candidate for Commissioned Elder within the United Methodist Church. 

 

Sione grew up in Tonga went to Tupou College, Wesleyan all-boys boarding school (junior-high school) then continue to another Wesleyan school, Tupou High School. During his  senior year, he worked with Campus Crusade for Christ and was elected president for Inter-School Christian Fellowship in Tonga in 1989. In 1991, he started teaching at Tupou High School then to the Tongan Development Bank as a junior loan officer for a year. In 1992, heI received his US Permanent Resident Card. Since 1992, I have been working with youth in different congregations. After years of transition, he enrolled at Fullerton College then transfered to Cal State Fullerton where he graduated with B.A in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He went to Claremont School of Theology and graduated with M.Div in 2004. He was certified as a candidate for ordination in 2002 and am applying to be commisionined as an elder this year.  He  has also taken other courses at Fuller Theological Seminary and Talbot School of Theology. His hope is to continue his theological studies as he pursues a career in the ordained ministry.  He  has  been married to Olivia Liava'a Tu'ipulotu for almost nine years and at this point they have no children.
